Requirements for CCSP continuing education credits

Certified Communications Security
Professional (CCSP)

  • Earn 30 credits within one calendar year in the area of Education and Association activity
  • Credits in both categories are defined in the CCSP Program
  • It is the responsibility of the CCSP to track their credits.
    • Requirement for CCSPs to obtain continuing education credits will begin January 2013.
    • New CCSPs will be required to earn their continuing education credits starting the third dues year. For example, if member gets their CCSP in 2012, they will be required to obtain their continuing education credits in 2014.
    • For dues year 2014, CCSPs will be asked to log-on to the CFCA website and update their profile indicating that they have completed the required number of continuing education credits. By doing so, they are agreeing this is subject to audit. This will be repeated annually.
    • If a CCSP fails to earn the required number of continuing credits within the specified timeframe, they will be moved into an ‘inactive’ status and given until the end of first quarter of the following year as a grace period. After the grace period, the member must re-take the CCSP exam and pay the $200 fee.
    • Any ‘one-off’ requests, not covered by the guidelines, will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the certification committee.
